Video Game Helps Kids Learn Math

Article

This story hardly surprises me.  I'm more surprised this idea hasn't been done a long time ago.  It seems almost inevitable that eventually school districts somewhere would intertwine scholastic activity with one of kids favorite passtimes nowadays: videogames.  The intentions of these games are very good.  It seems like a good learning experience and the kids interviewed in the article all liked math more since playing the game.  Then again, even if a kid admitted to only liking it because it was a video game, I'm sure they wouldn't have put that in their article for people to read.  Right now this is only being spread across a few select schools in New York, but in time, depending on the reaction and results, it could be more widespread.  This is just another of many new innovations attempting to create a more hands-on learning experience for kids in school.
