"Five hollywood studios are helping to pay for a $1 Billion dollar-plus rollout of digital technology on about 20,000 movie theaters in America, as a precursor to showing more movies in 3-D. "
More than 20 3-D movies are set to his theaters through 2010, but not enough areas are equipped to show these films. That's why theaters across America are slowly getting upgraded with the proper equipment and digital movie players to allow to see movies in 3-D. This is truly the future of the movie experience. The biggest downside is that it will definitely cost more for tickets to these movies. But, if some of the biggest hollywood films can be converted to 3-D format in the future, it should be worth it, since it will be a much more realistic movie experience. This is probably just the first of many steps to come in the advancement of the movie experience, I wouldn't be surprised if we were actually feeling tangible effects or smelling things straight from the movie screens in the future. Similar to the Bug's Life show at the Animal Kingdom in Disney. Definitely worth looking forward to.

I don't know... sounds a little intrusive, doesn't it? I hope they don't do horror movies in 3-D! :)
I can't wait to see how much technology changes the way we view movies. I feel like seeing movies is one past-time that nearly everyone shares, so changing it can get tricky!
